PSFK Report - Gaming for Good

Between Rivers, a documentary that show us the story of São Paulo’s construction and evolution. And explain the motives of some many flooding in the biggest city in Brazil. The question that remains is what we can do to reverse this situation?

AIGA - Design for good

A movement to ignite, accelerate and amplify design-driven social change. Organized by AIGA - the professional association for design in NYC.

Electrolux - Vac from the Sea

To create a susteinable vacuum cleaner, Electrolux create this beautiful project - ONU’ awarded - with plastic waste from our oceans.

Last month, I was in NYC and visit this IBM exhibit named Think.

It shows some of the initiatives created by The Smarter City (one of their business area), like a project in Amsterdam Airport that tracks all of the luggage with a RFID system or how much energy potential NYC has, if every roof had a solar panel. And it’s all shown in this great infographic virtual board.

In a room, 40 foot interactive screens show us how progress is shaped in this very clever and interesting approach: SEEING, MAPPING, UNDERSTANDING, BELIEVING and ACTING.

It’s very very inspiring!

++ Open to the public (free) from September 23 to October 23 at Lincoln Center in New York.

"Park at my house" is one of BMW i initiatives / sponsor. This is the kind of project that realIy impresses me, because it is a simple solution that works.
The idea:  rent private parking spaces, garages or driveways, that are not in use, in the everyday life. You can find a spot or put your place to rent (and earn money with that).
Simple as that. Using the resources of the city in a much clever way.
Available only in UK, since 2006 with over 100,000 drivers, and providing parking in over 10,000 locations.

BMW i

I wasn’t aware of this BMW i project. It was a nice discovery.

BMW i is a initiative to study and embrace a more sustainable future for driving. Of course, they are looking for better cars. But that’s not all. They are also thinking in services that can make our lives better. And they also sponsor projects that can help achieve that - and mobile services too with BMW i Ventures.

Beautiful project in Japan. Communication can also helps green thinking, making it look fun and meaningful. Love it!
